Ryan on YouTube

A couple of months ago Ryan and the high school group at church performed a drama to the song 'Everything', which was performed live by the Christian group Issakar.

Ryan and the whole group did a fantastic job, and there weren't many dry eyes in the house at the end of the performance. Now the video of their performance is available on YouTube. Thanks to David Fishback for the great video, and for sharing it.

Mom & Dad's 50th

Last night we went out to the Portland City Grill for a belated celebration of Mom & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant is on the 30th floor of the US Bank tower, the view of Portland is amazing. Happy 50th Mom and Dad!






















(yes, that flash reflection in the 3rd picture bothers me as much as it bothers you. I started to fiddle with it to remove the bright spot, but lost patience.... On a rainy afternoon someday I may try again)

Dec 2005 Christmas Tree Trek

We rented some snowshoes and headed up to Mt. Hood in December in search of the “McDermott Family Christmas tree”. We ended up at Frog Lake, it was a beautiful sunny day. The snowshoes (rented at REI) were awesome, they make it easy to walk in deep snow, and also have a serrated pair of blades on the underside that allow them to grip in packed snow or ice. We found a tree that we liked and ended the day with some hot chocolate at the Mt. Hood Brewing Co.
